I’m curious as to why this happens with MARTA every few months. Theory: they have a bulk agreement with their credit card processor and that only allows for X number of transactions during a specified time period. When there are tons of events happening in downtown Atlanta during said time period, MARTA exceeds its contract limits due to an influx of non-standard riders and simply cuts off card processing. I’m curious to know what’s actually going on though, if anyone can help answer to the tough questions.
